Hello Meeting Families,

Worship and Ministry Committee is wanting to offer a time for families to enjoy one another in the meeting context as a way to begin the "waiting for Christmas" or Advent season. We know that the Quaker Leadership Students will be telling stories to the grade-school and middle-school children during Meeting on December 6. Then after meeting we are planning a simple sandwich potluck to be followed by storyteller Tom Teti from People's Light and Theatre. Tom has written stories for the Advent Garden we have done in recent years; now he has written one just for the telling. . .a fun one about a mayor of a tiny town in the mountains who helps his village know the real meaning of Christmas. The gathering time is for all ages and will conclude around 1 pm.

I need to hear back from 4 to 6 families who want to be counted on to be there before making more announcements. I spoke to four families this morning after meeting; two are coming and two need to check at home first but think they would like to do so. So please if you have interest in this simple fun time to open the advent season, please respond to this email to tell me "yes," "no," or "maybe." I will make a final decision this Wednesday noon in order to tell Tom and others of our plan.

Thanks for letting me know,
Rebecca Mays
